Sam Hatchard is a bit annoying as the hero initially. He's so certain he and Jessie would do okay together. He ignores her valid reasons for doubting that. But as he grows through the story and you learn more about him, he's cool.
Plus, Jessie has no problems standing up to him.
"Sweet Fortune" is a re-release of an older book and at times its datedness shows - but I love that! The book has charm and Jayne Ann Krentz's wonderful way of wrapping up all the threads so there's not just a happy ending for the couple, but an improvement in the world/family around them. Lovely light read.
