Misrule's Mistress - Nicole Hurley-Moore
This is a fantastic example of a point I was trying to make just a while ago: a short story is the perfect way to celebrate a holiday. It focuses in tightly on the holiday's theme (love and hope, in this instance) and gets you in the mood.

Misrule's Mistress shines not only because Ellette and Barric, the heroine and hero, are loveable, but because the historical details are perfect. The details don't elbow their way front and centre, but provide a genuine background for the romance.

This is a wonderful Medieval Christmas love story. Pop it on your keeper shelf.
