The Australian Romance Readers Convention is on this weekend (#ARRC15 on Twitter), on the other side of the country to me. Friends flew over to it, but I saved money and time and energy and ... yeah, I was sensible and now I'm regretting it. I'm missing out!
It would be lovely to be in Canberra with nothing to do but talk books!
Oh, and look at sights like the hot air balloon festival. Although, to be honest, I don't like hot air balloons. I used to live in Canberra and when you've heard the hiss of their gas just outside your window and realised the passengers can all see you in your pjs, well, the glamour's gone ;)
But still ... I'm missing out!
So now I have to get over my little pity party and focus on the writing to make this stay-at-home weekend totally worthwhile. Fortunately, I think I should be able to finish the revision of a story and send it off to my crit partner to be torn apart. And while she's ripping and red-penning, I can work on the next story -- Here be Persian dragons!
