I have a battered paperback with exactly this cover - much more exciting than the plain cover of the ebook. But ebook, yay! I love that when I tell people how great "Bride of the Rat God" is, they can get hold of a copy.
In interviews, authors often get asked their favourite book. I struggle because there are lots of books I love. Sometimes I say anything Discworld (Terry Pratchett being my favourite author - humour and social commentary in an amazingly vivid world), but quite often I say "Bride of the Rat God". I think it's how perfectly Barbara Hambly transports me to the world of early Hollywood and the post-war years.
