High Stakes - Robin Thomas
"High Stakes" is a novella, and it sets a cracking pace, telling the story without wasting a word. I thoroughly enjoyed how the writing style emphasises the pressure of the business world.

Kate is a heroine intensely focussed on her career. Pete is her competition. How she comes to see her tunnel vision (I'm trying to be careful of spoilers here) is credible and honest. "High Stakes" is a great title because the story is about life choices -- and what is more important than those?
